Building - Bevan Harris
The Building Department works to assure the life, health, and safety of the public by regulating the construction, use and occupancy of buildings, through the administration and enforcement of Building Codes adopted in San Juan County and to maintain an adequate record system, as required by law.
Apply for a Permit
A building permit is an official document or certificate issued by the authority having jurisdiction which authorizes performance of a specified activity.
Your building permit allows the Code Official to protect the occupants of buildings by reducing the potential hazards of unsafe construction and ensuring public health, safety, and welfare.
By following code guidelines, your completed project will meet minimum safety standards and will be less likely to cause injury to you, your family, your friends, or future owners.
