ABOUT THE RECORDING OFFICE

The Recording Division of the San Juan Clerk and Recorder’s Office is responsible for recording, imaging, preserving, maintaining and providing access to all documents that are a permanent public record in San Juan County. These documents may include real estate transactions (including plats, easements, egress/ingress rights, mineral rights, etc.), marriage licenses, civil union licenses, military discharges, death certificates, uniform commercial code (UCC), county government documents, and certain types of vital records. 

The San Juan County Clerk and Recorder office is not associated with the Colorado District Court or San Juan County Court. These entities are part of the Colorado Judicial Branch. The San Juan County Clerk and Recorder office does not have access to legal cases, criminal records, divorce records, or court dockets, etc. To contact the Clerk of the Court for San Juan County, please call 970-387-5790 or email SanJuanClerk@judicial.state.co.us. US Mail addressed to the physical address (Greene St) will NOT be delivered.
