Personal Property

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the due date for Personal Property Declaration Forms were extended to June 15, 2020. Appeal dates have also been extended as described below. Notices of Valuation were mailed prior to August 3, 2020.

If on January 1, you own, lease or borrow business personal property with a total market value greater than $7,800, the assets must have been reported to our office no later than June 15, 2020 (normally April 15).

Owners who disagree with the value had the opportunity to object on or before August 20, 2020. Once an objection has been filed, the assessor will review your account and mail you a Notice of Determination by September 2, 2020. If you disagree with the assessor's decision, you may file an appeal with the county board of equalization by September 14, 2020. If you disagree with the county board's decision, you may file an appeal with the State Board of Assessment Appeals or the district court, or you may request a binding arbitration hearing within 30 days of the county board’s mailed decision.

We are happy to answer questions. We will return voice messages left at 970.387.5632.
